I wanted a decorative aluminum hose reel because I'm sick of dealing with plastic reels that end up cracking, bending, and discoloring over time.This one looks really nice, but it's not very stable.The hardware that came with it did not fit well and several of the pieces are wobbly.Only time will tell if its poor stability will effect its durability.

Apex 2025-50 Rubber Sprinkler 50-Feet Hose Review

I wish it had more holes because I couldn't lay it flat where it would reach all of plants along a fence row. It is really heavy duty and I'm looking foward to a longer life than other sprinkler hoses. Great Length for fence rows and other lengthy watering needs.

Legacy L8653 Manual Air Hose Reel Review

When I opened the box I found the 3/8 Fasteners for the leg and handle assembly loose. There were several chips in the paint of the reel from the fasteners. During Assembly of the legs and handle I found the capscrews were too short. I was unable to start the nut. I resolved the problem by going to the local Box Store and purchasing longer 3/8 capscrews. I was pleased to finally find the rating for the hose and reel. Max working pressure is 350 PSI. The Hose burst pressure is 1400 PSI. No where in the product description or specifications can these numbers be found. I ordered this Assembly hoping these ratings were Ok for my application. Other than the short capscrews and a few chips in the paint, I am pleased with this unit. I like the portability. It is a well constructed heavy duty unit.

I didn't buy from the seller on Amazon - my complaint is about the product.it is supposed to take 175' of hose.I put on 100' of 3/4" rubber hose, and it is all I can do to real the thing up.The unit is awkward, has no weight to balance against the weight of the hose, and the handle popped out of its socket almost immediately.Unless your using a really cheap light weight hose, buy something more substantial!

Well, at first look this think is awesome. The retractor worked perfect. But then we hooked up the water and it started spewing water like the titanic. At first look it appears the very inexpensive couplings were the problem. The threads are not aligned properly. Then it just blows off and starts shooting water everywhere.
And of course the company has no customer service phone number only an email to the sales dept.

Suncast 225' Capacity Garden Hose Reel Cart with High Crank And Hose Guide, Bronze/Taupe #CPLHCT200B Review

The whole reel is made of cheap and thin plastic. The crank gear is also plastic, and as soon as you put some stress on it (like trying to rewind a 100ft hose laying on the ground) it will start skipping and coming apart. The whole product is made of smaller plastic parts that are snapped together, which can not take the smallest amount of stress without breaking off from one another. By my second heavily assisted rewind the whole assembly started leaking like mad (something else snapped I guess), prompting me to return it.

This seems to be a common theme with all the Suncast products, as this is a third model of their hose reel that I have tried. If you had a bad experience with one, do not assume that their more expensive units are any better made. They're just more expensive, that's all.

Amazingly high quality solid copper (correction - painted steel!) piece.Better than I was expecting based on the description and picture.Get the real thing for what most places charge for resin or plastic knock offs.Very pretty embossed pattern.Will be getting a second one soon.

Update - further research indicates this is painted steel.Has held up very well in actual use.I appreciate the lid.Looks good and keeps the hoses out of the sun.Still wish it were real copper, but then it would be a lot more money.

This is the third one of these I've purchased, and due to one simple change, it's the best of the lot.

Yes, you DO need to dig a hole in the ground and securely set this thing in place -- after all, it's going be holding 20, 30, or 40 pounds or more of hose and you need it to be stable.

Other models I've owned have featured a horizontal input connection, which has put a strain in the supply hose (the one coming from your spigot or other water source. Typically, these hose stands are backed up against a wall, and you end up having to permanently bend your supply hose to accommodate the horizontal input and squeeze it in place. This eventually leads to failure, and puts undue sideways pressure on the input in the back of the stand.

THIS model has a 90-degree input connection, and points DOWNWARD -- utterly brilliant! Your supply hose lays on the ground, and easily and naturally turns upwards to connect to the back of the hose stand. No awkwardly-bent connections, no strain, etc. What a great idea!

This product appears to be all steel and brass, and gives the impression that it'll last a long, long time.

Worth every penny of the asking price, I recommend this stand without reservation!

I spent a lot of time looking for an auto-retracting 3/8" diameter 100' length hose reel, and found this one to be the best for the money.So far it has not let me down.It's very heavy (~70 lbs), but easy to mount to a wall with 1/2" lag bolts.Quality seems as expected - no complaints.Hose is very flexible and easily retracts all the way.I looked at the levelwind technology reels and after using this reel I feel that the levelwind reel is not necessary.I have not had any problems just letting this reel retract.Note that the hose had a yellow residue on it, so you'll probably want to wipe it down before dragging it through the house.Mine is now clean after running it through my hands a couple times, but the first time my hands were yellow.

Not a bad hose reel at all for the price. Made very well and it's priced much better than comparable reels. Mounting is no problem if your mounting it on a cement wall. If you need to mount it on a stud wall you will have to fasten a 2x4 horizontally to the wall first and then mount the reel to that. The holes are only 12" on center. A nice 3 foot lead hose is also included to connect to an air compressor or a regulator. I run two air hoses in my garage, I was so happy with the first i purchased another.

Ames True Temper 2370500 Reel Easy Decorative Hose Reel Review

Don't buy this product. The feeder hose comes out of the box at ground level and thus must make a 90 degree turn. The hose was kinked at this point as it came out of the box. There is no way to fix the kink. The only possible way this product can be used is if the left side is hung out over a deck or step so the hose can come straight down and make a gradual turn. The hose reel has one very bad fault.The fitting for the hose is outside the reel, so you have to run the hose through the side of the reel and to the fitting.When you roll up the hose, it kinks because of the tight curve, and, puts such a strain on the fitting that leaks are also a problem.I bought 2 right angles, 3 two-inch pieces, and hose fittings and brought the fitting to the inside of the reel and it works fine now.Another problem is when you pull only a short section of hose off the reel, it keeps spinning and unreels the rest of the hose onto the floor.
It will do, but certainly is no more than that.Definitely too high priced for what you get, and the modifications you have to make.

I've had leakage problems with this unit since purchase. It was difficult to get the various supplied hoses connected to my exterior faucet hook up and to the 100' hose to be attached to it.Everything leaked.In desperation (after I'd tried everything, including plumbers tape)I asked my gardener to check the connections to see if he could get them to stop leaking. He advised that there was nothing he could do - all connection parts were defective (missing threads, crooked threads, threads that were too short).By this time, the return date was long gone.
